The Horstmann System is a living method rooted in the work of its founder, Trish Trowbridge, and continuously developed through practice, experience and teaching. Today, it is carried forward through an active international community of practitioners and teachers, ensuring that the technique remains relevant, evolving and accessible to people around the world.

A global community

The Horstmann System continues to grow through an international community of practitioners and teachers. It is through this shared experience that the method evolves – shaped by real practice, real people and real results.

At its core, the system is about restoring connection within the body. Physical tension, emotional patterns and the body’s natural movement are not separate – they influence each other. By working with this connection, the technique supports the body in finding balance again.

Together, this global community carries the work forward, allowing the system to remain both grounded in its origins and continuously developing through experience.

From foundation to living system

What began as a personal journey of healing has grown into a structured and evolving system of treatment and training. Over time, the work has expanded to include:

  • refined treatment methods based on clinical experience
  • a deeper understanding of how the body stores physical and emotional patterns
  • a structured pathway for learning and professional development

Today, the Horstmann System represents both its original foundation and its continued evolution – combining hands-on practice with insight developed over time.

Continuity and development

Following the passing of Trish Trowbridge, her work was carried forward by her close collaborator Marie Myrander, who played a key role in preserving, teaching and further developing the Horstmann System.

Through her continued work, the system maintained its integrity while evolving through practical experience and teaching.

Today, the Horstmann System remains grounded in its original principles, while continuing to grow through the practitioners and teachers who carry it forward.

Leadership today

The Horstmann System is now led by Eva Klingström, Senior Practitioner and Head of Education. With extensive experience in the technique, she plays a central role in:

  • maintaining the quality and integrity of the work
  • guiding the development of training programs
  • supporting practitioners in their professional journey

Through her leadership, the system continues to evolve while staying true to its original purpose.

The system in practice

At its core, the Horstmann System is about supporting change – physically, emotionally and energetically. Each practitioner works with the same foundational principles, while adapting the approach to the individual. This creates a balance between structure and flexibility, allowing the method to meet each person’s needs.

The result is a system that is consistent in its foundation, yet responsive in practice.

Training and professional path

The Horstmann System offers a structured pathway for those who want to learn and work with the technique. Through workshops and hands-on training, participants can:

  • develop practical skills
  • deepen their understanding of the body-mind connection
  • integrate the method into their existing practice

Whether you are new to bodywork or an experienced therapist, the system provides a clear path for both personal and professional development.
